Many folks we know have gone through a lot of changes over the past couple of years, gaining and losing loved ones, life changes and more.
Boing has passed away after valiantly fighting a 2 week battle with chronic kidney failure, and we were lucky to have had her in our lives.
We brought her home in the winter of 2000, and we think she was about 1 1/2 years old at that time. She had spent Christmas of 1999 at the farm sleeping on my lap, the whole time, and had really claimed me, so when we found out she needed to find a new home, I knew she was coming home with us. Tom needed a bit of time to make sure, but only a few weeks later she was in her crate, on her way to our cozy apartment here in Ottawa.
For the first three nights, she drove us insane. She whined and cried as we would not let her on the bed. It took those three days to come to an understanding and many more battles of wills would ensue over the years.
She learned a few tricks and trained us well to do her bidding with those baleful glances and perky ears! Her life was full of laps to curl up on, a variety of thrones and cozy blankets to sleep on, and loads of folks who gave her more attention than any one creature should get – but then again…
She was very important in our lives, and while our grief is deeply personal, we also feel she made a strong impact on the lives of our friends and family, and welcome your memories and comments below.
We’ve tried to find some fun reminder photos to share with you – there were way too many to put most of them up, but we hope these will bring the joy of her life to your hearts as it does ours.
